The carpets included in our In/Out range were designed for outdoor use from the ground up. As the carpets are produced without backing, they are also resistant to moisture. The In/Out carpets feature a smooth surface that feels comfortable even on bare feet. ..In/Out-mallistomme matot ovat jo valmiiksi suunniteltu ulkokäyttöön. When we began designing the outdoor versions of the My and Roo chairs, we had to account for the fact that the fabric and filler of the chair would have to be able to withstand various weather conditions and UV radiation. We also wanted to ensure easy maintenance so the chairs could be used at holiday homes as well. Both the interior materials used for the beanbag chairs and the Saimaa upholstery fabric designed together with the weaving factory are suitable for a wide range of weather conditions, and they are both also resistant to frost. The Saimaa fabric is used primarily for the outdoor beanbag chairs. ..Kun lähdimme suunnittelemaan My- ja Roo-tuoleista ulkoversioita, piti suunniteltaessa ottaa huomioon se, että kankaan ja tuolin sisuksen tulee kestää erilaisia sääolosuhteita sekä auringon UV-säteilyä. Lisäksi halusimme tehdä tuoleista helppohoitoiset, jotta ne toimisivat myös vapaa-ajan kodeissa. Sekä säkkituolien sisusmateriaali että yhdessä kutomon kanssa suunniteltu Saimaa-verhoilukankaamme ovat materiaaleiltaan hyvin erilaisiin sääolosuhteisiin sopivat, ne ovat molemmat myös pakkasen kestävät. While the fabric does contain man-made fibers, its fine and airy structure creates a soft surface that resembles natural fibers. The surface is also warm in colder conditions. Many of our customers use the same outdoor beanbag chair both inside and out. The chair features a removable cover that can be cleaned in a washing machine, which adds to the product's ease of use. Woodnotes’ Saimaa upholstery fabrics and In/Out carpets designed for outdoor use are woven in the village of Kauhajärvi in South Ostrobothnia, and the carpets are stitched and finished in our own sewing factory in Lapua, 26 kilometers from Kauhajärvi. The covers of the beanbag chairs are manufactured in a small sewing factory in Estonia, which has been producing items exclusively for Woodnotes for the past 20 years. The fact that the carpets are woven and stitched within a short distance allows for close and flexible cooperation without intermediaries. The quality of work has been honed over a long time, and the work is largely done by hand. “Each person working on the items leaves their handprint on the finished product. All of our products have been touched by human hands with skill and appreciation”, Minna says. ..Woodnotesin ulkokäyttöön suunnitellut Saimaa-verhoilukankaat ja In/Out-matot kudotaan Kauhajärvellä Etelä-Pohjanmaalla ja matot ommellaan ja viimeistellään 26 kilometrin päässä omalla ompelimollamme Lapualla. Säkkituolien huput ommellaan Virossa pienessä ompelimossa, jossa tehdään ompelutyötä ainoastaan Woodnotesille 20 vuoden yhteistyön katkeamattomana jatkumona. Se, että mattojen kudonta ja ompelu tapahtuvat lähekkäin, mahdollistaa tiiviin ja joustavan yhteistyön ilman välikäsiä. Tekemisen laatu on hioutunut pitkäjännitteisesti ja työ on hyvin pitkälti käsityötä. ”Jokaisen tekijän kädenjälki välittyy lopputuotteeseen. Ihmiskäsi on koskettanut jokaista tuotetta taidokkaasti ja arvostaen”, Minna sanoo.
